Lindsley Excavating

Lindsley Excavating / Culvert excavation & crossing restoration.

Culvert excavation & crossing restoration.

Lindsley Excavating reviews culvert installation and replacement for driveway entrances, private roads and municipal project packages. The work can include removal, excavation, bedding, backfill, grading, hauling and gravel or asphalt restoration.

Identify the crossing and why work is needed

Send photos of the inlet, outlet, crossing surface and surrounding drainage path. Describe visible settlement, erosion, damage or recurring blockage. Existing pipe dimensions are useful, but replacement size, material and elevation should come from the approved design or responsible project authority. The old pipe size alone does not establish what the replacement should be.

Price the crossing beyond the pipe

A complete scope identifies removal limits, excavation, pipe or structure supply, bedding, backfill, compaction, end treatments and surface restoration. Include any specified headwall, erosion protection or utility coordination. Distinguish materials supplied by the owner from materials supplied by the contractor, particularly on municipal projects.

Plan for water and continued access

Tell us whether the crossing is the only entrance, what traffic uses it and which work windows are available. Water-management requirements and any temporary access must be included in the project plan. For public invitations, send the relevant details, bid items and addenda so these responsibilities are priced from the same documents.

Restore the road or driveway as specified

The final crossing may require aggregate reconstruction, asphalt replacement, ditch grading and topsoil restoration. Mark the limits and specify the material sections. Ask for a clear breakdown if the owner wants to compare full restoration with a temporary surface followed by later paving. Work on adjacent property or outside the approved limits is not assumed.

Project questions

Can you replace the culvert under a driveway?

Send the entrance location, available design details, photos and access needs. We can review removal, replacement and driveway restoration as one package.

Can a larger pipe be installed to solve flooding?

The appropriate crossing and outlet design needs to be established for the drainage conditions. We price construction from the agreed design rather than select pipe size from a flooding description alone.

Can this be quoted to a roadway prime contractor?

Yes. Send the bid-item breakdown and identify whether you need excavation, material hauling, backfill, drainage work or the full defined crossing package.
